A first: Veteran actor Om Puri to star in two Pakistani films

Legendary Bollywood actor Om Puri might have played many Pakistani characters, from the iconic role of George Khan in British dramedies East is East and West is West to President Zia-ul-Haq in Charlie Wilson’s War. But now, he is all set to star in his first Pakistani film. The veteran actor is all set to star in Na Maloom Afraad, a Pakistani cinematic venture by director Nabeel Qureshi and producer Fizza Ali Meerza.

The filmmaker duo is also set to announce their second joint project, a film titled Actor In Law, which will also star Om Puri, reports the Dawn.

Om Puri, who has been a proponent of Pak-India cultural collaborations, is a regular fixture on the film and literary festival circuit in Pakistan.

The actor who has appeared in both mainstream Indian films and art films. His credits also include appearances in British and American films. Puri has worked in numerous Indian films and in many films produced in the United Kingdom and the United States. He made his film debut in the 1976 film Ghashiram Kotwal, based on a Marathi play of the same name.
