Aamir Khan is the only Bollywood personality to have been invited to the three-day Women In The World Summit, which kicked off on Wednesday (April 22) in New York, USA.

The actor, who spoke at the event, addressed the issue of tackling taboos in India. He interacted with Zainab Salbi, an Iraqi-American humanitarian, entrepreneur and author, who also happens to be the daughter of ex-Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s personal pilot.

"At the event, Aamir spoke to Zainab and other guests about the topic, and also his own work. For the major part of the show, the talk was about cultural taboos that he is highlighting through his TV show," says an insider.

The event will also see participation from other big names like Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Freida Pinto and Hilary Clinton, among others.

When we contacted Aamir, he sent us a brief reply, saying, "It has been an enriching experience."

Aamir, who is currently busy preparing for his next, a wrestling-based film, especially took out time to travel to New York for the event. "Once he is back, Aamir will immediately resume work on the project," says an insider.

The shoot is expected to begin in September this year. The actor has already beefed up to weigh 90 kg for the part.
