Imran Khan’s proximity to his star-uncle Aamir Khan is well-known, so it is but obvious to assume that the young actor would be aware of Aamir’s every facet. But, Imran reveals that, even though Aamir is family, until he worked with him, he, too, was feeding on the image of the actor created by the media.
"The only time I’ve ever been on the set with Aamir was for a promo that we shot for Delhi Belly (2011). I found him to be very different from what I had expected," says Imran, adding, "I’ve always known him personally. My understanding of him as a creative person, or as an actor, has actually come from the media. So, I had the image of someone who would be micromanaging, and harassing the hell out of everyone. But I found him to be remarkably fluid. It wasn’t that he had set a road map and he had to put his foot exactly at a certain spot."
The 31-year-old actor, who is currently shooting for his next opposite Kangana Ranaut Katti Batti, also reveals that while on set with Aamir, one has to be very alert. "With some actors, you know how they’re going to say their lines. So, by the time you’re on the third take with them, you don’t even need to pay attention. You can just hear them and you know where to come in. But with Aamir, I felt that I had to watch and listen to him very carefully. I had to be on my toes because he’s very unpredictable," says Imran.
