Everyone was expecting Aamir Khan to sport a beard and a khaki uniform in Reema Kagti’s as-yet-untitled thriller in which he plays a hard-as-nails cop.
But that uniformed look was for a commercial of a DTH (Direct-To-Home) service that the star endorses. At media baron Nari Hira’s party last week, when someone asked him if this was how he’d appear on screen next, the actor smiled and said he would finalise that look in a couple of days.
Last Sunday, he turned up at the launch of Sussanne Roshan’s store, The Charcoal Project, in Andheri, looking much leaner and sporting a handlebar moustache.
Khan will also train extensively for Dhoom 3 which starts later this year but only after he has wrapped up Kagti’s film, says a friend of the actor who is also co-producing the film with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Interestingly, this is not the first time the perfectionist actor has revealed his ‘look’ before the film has flaged off. He flaunted his Ghajini gear too, at the premiere of Race three years ago. The actor-producer was unavailable for comment and director Kagti was non-commital on the subject: “Yes Aamir plays a cop and we’re in the process of finalising the look.”
But the actor’s friend maintained that the look Khan sported at the launch of Roshan’s store is final. It is said that the actor will do a photo-shoot, after the fever he’s been running subsides.
Kagti’s film features Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. It will go on the floors this month.
