Aarti Chabria says it was a delightful experience to direct her first short film.

Model-turned-actor Aarti Chabria has directed a short film called Mumbai Varanasi Express, which has won an award at the Kolkata Film Festival and will also be screened at a film festival in Mumbai. A source says, “She is delighted that her debut directorial venture will be screened in Mumbai and also at several prestigious film festivals across the globe.”

Confirming the news, Aarti says, “Being a cinema fan right from childhood, I always wanted to be a director. I learnt about the technicalities of film-making at the New York Film Academy, USA. As I was completely new to the concept of short films, I realised that they are exceptionally difficult to make. After a lot of research, I found a beautiful script that I instantly connected with. I felt the story needed to be told. It was a wonderful experience making this film.”
