With election season over and the ongoing IPL nearing its finale, Bollywood finally has reason to cheer. Big films that have been waiting in the wings are ready to hog the limelight now, and fans have some starry spectacles to look forward to.

The movies that make their way to theatres soon include Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer
(June 6), Kabir Sadanand’s much talked-about directorial venture Fugly (June 13), Saif Ali Khan-Riteish Deshmukh starrer Humshakals (June 20), Ek Villain (June 27) featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, and Vidya Balan’s detective saga, Bobby Jasoos (July 4).
"We wanted the entire IPL and election frenzy to get over, that’s why we decided on a June date (IPL ends on June 1),” says
director Kabir Sadanand.
Director Vipul Shah, who is producing
, has the same reason. "We knew that the election results will be out by May 16 and that the new cabinet will be declared by May 25. We are hoping for the best now," he says.
Industry experts say with their way clear and an impending entertainment lull otherwise, these films stand a good chance at success.

(laughs). I see brighter days for the box office. It is also vacation time for kids. The lineup looks impressive, with something unusual coming up almost every week.The real action will begin now. Holiday, Humshakals and Ek Villain, among others, are some of the names you can bet on,: says trade expert Atul Mohan.
