Abhay Deol's black eye inspires AAP
A spokesperson from Abhay's next film - One By Two - said that officials from Aam Aadmi Party have called up to say that they appreciated Abhay's black-eye protest for the rights of musicians and added that they would like to use it in their own way.
Abhay Deol took up the cause of the musicians of his upcoming film, One By Two, during the recent controversy over royalty payment issues.
The actor sported a black eye and even shot a protest video with artistes from the music industry.
And it looks like this protest has caught the fancy of officials from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)!
We’ve been informed that they contacted Abhay and complimented him on his strategy.
A source close to his next film’s production house reveals, "The idea of the ‘black eye protest’ became a hit and Abhay got a call from some officials of AAP, congratulating him on the successful concept. They also told him that they would consider using the idea when required."
When contacted, the official spokesperson from the production house (Viacom 18) confirmed the news, saying, "Yes, a call did come from some officials of AAP mentioning that they appreciated the manner in which Abhay chose to protest and fight for what’s right. They even mentioned how they would like to use the idea in their own way. However, we’re happy that Abhay’s campaign has been noticed and people have paid attention to it."
The production house also backed Abhay and the campaign.
