About a week ago, Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan made news when he bought the Jaipur franchise of the Pro Kabaddi League.

But his love for the sport doesn’t seem to end here, as the actor is now planning to start a kabaddi league for women.

“He wants to initiate a women’s league because he believes they have what it takes to make kabaddi huge in India. He follows the sport carefully too. Ever since India won the 2012 Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, he has wanted to get involved in the sport that he feels has been given step-motherly treatment in the country,” says an insider close to the actor.

When contacted, Abhishek confirms the news, saying, “Yes, we have discussed the formation of a Pro Kabaddi League for women in the near future... it is part of the agenda… we have to start somewhere.”
