Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, were last seen together in R Balki’s Paa in 2009. Even though the audience is now looking forward to Abhishek’s cameo in the director’s upcoming film, Shamitabh (that also stars Big B), not many know that the special appearance was completely unplanned. As a matter of fact, it was almost accidental.

“Balki was shooting at the Mumbai international airport when the crew spotted Abhishek on the set. He had just landed from London, UK, and since he knew his father was shooting at the airport, he dropped by to meet him before heading home,” says a source. The decision to include Abhishek in the scene was apparently taken by the makers in the spur-of-the-moment. This is also the reason why Abhishek does not have any dialogue in the film. “That’s because his cameo was never part of the script,” adds a source.

Confirming the news, Balki said, “Abhishek was sitting on a bench. We decided against disturbing him, so, I just asked my camera team to capture him. In the film, people will only be able to spot him.” He added, “We told Abhishek that we had caught him on camera and that the scene would be part of the film. It was just done for fun, and I hope people like it.”
