Veteran film actor Shashi Kapoor has been hospitalised, with complaints of chest infection. The 76-year-old actor has been admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri.According to the hospital, Kapoor was brought to the hospital on September 15, complaining of cough and breathlessness. He has been admitted under the care of a nephrologist, as he has a history of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

“Mr Kapoor, although in the intensive care unit (ICU), is stable and is on antibiotics. He has been diagnosed with chest infection,” said the executive director of the hospital, Dr Ram Narain.
The septuagenarian actor, who has acted in hit movies such as Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Silsila and Deewar, has been in failing health for some time. He has also undergone a bypass surgery in the past.
