Age is just a number. We look good together: Urvashi Rautela
Says 19-year-old actor Urvashi Rautela, when you ask her about acting opposite 57-year-old Sunny Deolbollywood Updated: Nov 19, 2013 15:58 IST
All of 19 and about to begin her journey in Bollywood, Urvashi Rautela is already beaming with the confidence that one might associate with established actors.
“I think it was destiny that brought me into films,” says Urvashi, who will be making her debut opposite Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great. She is unfazed about the comments her kissing scene with the 57-year-old Sunny has been getting so far. “Age is just a number. It hardly matters as we look good together. When Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) ma’am can work opposite Rajni (Rajinikanth) sir, why should I have any qualms? It is like every other scene and just as important as the other scenes in the film. It takes the story forward,” she says.
She adds that working with Sunny was a great experience. “Although he’s a senior actor, he never treated me like I was a newcomer on the sets. We met a couple of times before we started shooting, so I was comfortable around him. In fact, what I found surprising was that he’s very shy and not at all a social person,” she adds.
Urvashi admits she was on cloud nine when Dharmendra complimented her on her performance. “He saw the film and told me that my acting, especially in a particular scene, made him very emotional. That’s a huge deal for me. I will cherish that for the rest of my life.” Ask her about the kind of responses her performance is generating among her fans and she says, “People are comparing me with Madhuri (Dixit) and Sridevi after watching the song (‘Jad mehendi lag lag jaave’). I am glad I got a chance to do such a song in my very first film.”
