A few years ago, Dhanush gave us just the phrase to explain the reaction to AIB video: Why this Kolaveri Di?

And that's what we need to ask censor board member Ashok Pandit, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Maharashtra government, Congress and NCP and other people upset with the 'vulgar' AIB Knockout video which roasted, among others, filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

Faced by an outcry over the obscene language and content, AIB pulled down the show from YouTube. "Have taken down AIB Knockout for now. We will speak soon," the group had said on Twitter.

Now the group has spoken, and how. Asking people to "take a deep breath", the group goes on to explain that their decision to take the video of YouTube was "us being pragmatic".

They go on to say that the video came with age and content warning as well as age disclaimer. "YouTube videos do not magically auto-play in front of you. And yet the videos got over 8 million views…. the people who liked them outnumbered the people who disliked them by ten times to one."

And since they are comedians, here's a good one, "We hope it's clear by now that we never write with the aim of hurting people… If we really wanted to p*** off people and hurt them, we'd be selling credit cards over the phone."

That's how they end as well, "We'd like some sort of cheerful resolution to this so we can focus on more important national issues, like the upcoming Cricket World Cup."

Here's a quotable quote from AIB that no desi should miss: "I may not agree with you, but I will defend to death my right to get offended. How dare you? Baahar mil."
