Ajay Devgn has finally decided to make his stage debut with a dance performance at an award function, called Superstar Awards.

His act will be divided into three parts and each segment will have different sets of regional dancers. The award show will be shot on November 15, and eventually be on air some time this month, or early next month.

Anil Jha, head of events, Star India, confirms the news, "Ajay is returning to India tomorrow. We have a creative meeting lined up with him. Once we finalise the details, we’ll shoot a couple of promos to highlight the fact that the awards are completely driven by audience votes. I think that’s also what clicked with Ajay when we approached him with the concept of the award show."

The actor, whose film Singham premiered on the Star Network, will be dancing on songs like the title track from Omkara (2006) and his aforementioned blockbuster this year.

"We were taken aback when he said he’d like to perform on stage. I think it’s the way his film’s premiere faired on our network that got him interested," reasons Jha, adding, "Women have always adored Ajay’s personality, his body language, and eyes. The act that we’re putting together will showcase all this. He’s also pretty kicked about the rehearsals that we’ll start in a day or two."

When asked if Ajay’s wife, actor Kajol, and kids Nysa and Yug, would make it to the big evening to watch him dance for the first time, Jha states that they’ve left it to Ajay to decide.

"I’m sure he wants his wife and kids to watch him and cheer him. But eventually, whether they’d make it or not is something we can’t speak about at the moment," says Jha, adding, "Ajay’s inputs have been of great help to us to structure our event better. And I’m sure his family’s presence on his big evening will make it memorable for him and us."
