Jai Singh Nijjar, who assisted action director Veeru Devgn on the original Himmatwala (1983), is extremely thrilled to have directed his son, Ajay Devgn, in the remake of the film. The action director, who was closely associated with the original, never dreamt he would direct Ajay in the same film.

Ask him about his experience and Nijjar says, “The original Himmatwala has always been close to me as I had assisted Veeru sir for the action of the film. I used to see Ajay on the sets and never thought that I would direct him for the same film again. Though I have worked with Ajay before on many of his hit films, directing him in this one was a completely different experience.”

The film, directed by Sajid Khan, will release on March 29. It stars Ajay along with Tamannaah.
