It seems like Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s date diaries are too packed to accommodate John Travolta in the promotion of their forthcoming Diwali release,
Considering that a major portion of the movie is set in the 1970s, producer-director Vipul Shah was keen to rope in the Hollywood star for a marketing event. But the lead actors of his film have told him that they can’t coordinate their dates with that of Travolta during his three-week long stay in India.
Shah conceded that both Kumar and Bachchan have prior commitments. “Aishwarya met John (Travolta) at a recent award function, but Akshay was away in Hong Kong at that time. Now he’s back, but she’s gone,” says Shah, adding that the Hollywood star will have left by the time the dates of his Bollywood actors match his. “Let’s see how we can work things out.”
He is looking forward to the retro musical event for his film, scheduled for September 30, at Poly Esthers, Colaba. “I’ve heard that Akshay has mastered the art of turning tables in Hong Kong. I still have to get his and Aishwarya’s list of songs, I hope they surprise me with their choices,” says Shah. “Even I have a surprise that I’m keeping under wraps for now.”
