While critics have mixed opinion on Akshay Kumar's performance in OUATIMD (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara); barring few, the others have thrashed the film left, right and centre. Contrary to the reviewers' perception though, the film seems to be doing well, as it opened to full houses on Day 1 and did a decent business on Day 2, according to early estimates by trade website Koimoi.
Audiences would be the real judge, not critics, declared Kumar while speaking to Hindustantimes.com on the eve of the film's release. The actor goes on to add that film reviewers should write the reviews keeping target audiences in mind.
"It will be great if the reviewers write the reviews along with the audience, sit down with them, talk to them and seek their feedback. Ask the audience, they will never go wrong," says the actor.
The actor who has given smash hits like Singh Is Kinng, Housefull, Rowdy Rathore and Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai, feels not everyone can write a good review. "There are some people jinhe film ki ABC nahi maloom. Aisa nahi hona chahiye. Audience has become very smart." (There are some people who don't know the basics of filmmaking. This should not happen. Audience has become very smart)
Kumar is all praise for critics who write their reviews keeping audiences in mind.
"It never bothered me but main un critics ko salaam marta hu jo audience ke saath rahkar film dekhti hain and then look at their faces, reactions. Some people even talk to them." (I salute those critics who watch the film along with the audience and note people's reactions), adds Kumar.
