While performing for a special Eid show called Eid-e-Jashan on a popular TV channel, Akshay Kumar got carried away and ended up joining the famous Pakistani Sufi duo — Sabri Brothers — in singing the famous qawwali Chadhta suraj.

When he joined the singers on stage — an impromptu move, we’re told — he decided to dedicate a song to an old college friend, whom he lost years ago.

He says, “This song is dedicated to a close friend who passed away at a very young age. We used to hum it together in college and I miss him whenever I hear it. The song is very close to my heart.” Akshay also hummed a few lines of Duma dum mast kalandar and spoke to the singers about their work.

Akshay also performed with the star cast of his upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara. Earlier in the year, for his film Special 26, Akshay had sung the romantic song Mujh mein tu for a promotional video.
