Akshay Kumar is known for doing daredevil stunts. The actor performs one such action scene in Baby.

A few days back, Akshay Kumar penned an open letter (published in HT Café) in support of the stuntmen in the industry. In it, he highlighted that they “should win” awards for their “incredible work”. He also said that they “deserve so much more than a wage packet”. Now, a popular awards event has decided to honour stuntmen starting this year.

Akshay is thrilled that stuntmen are finally getting their due. “They say, it’s never too late. I say, better late than never. I’m so proud that awards functions are finally recognising stuntmen and are helping the world realise their importance.

“It was a great feeling,” he says, adding, “The chance to present such an award came after I expressed my feelings about stuntmen. I have always felt their contribution was going unnoticed and was under-appreciated, but not anymore.”
