Even as Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn are getting set for their next release, a political drama called Satyagraha, Salman Khan will make a cameo appearance in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s political thriller, O Teri. Now, buzz is that Akshay Kumar might take up a political satire as the sequel to OMG – Oh My God!.
An industry insider reveals, “Right now, things are at a nascent stage but they are surely working on it. In fact, director Umesh Shukla and writer Bhavesh Mandolia have come up with a basic idea for the script as well.”
Apparently, contrary to OMG’s storyline, which was a satire that debated on the existence of God, in the sequel, Paresh Rawal’s character will take on politicians.
“As of now, there’s no confirmed date for the sequel yet, but Akshay and Ashvini (Yardi, production partner) are surely kicked about it. Before that, Umesh is also supposed to start his yet-untitled next with Abhishek (Bachchan) and Asin. So, in all probability, the sequel will only go on floors next year,” says the insider. Although there is no confirmation on the film’s cast yet, rumours suggest that Akshay and Paresh might be a part of it.
Despite repeated attempts, Akshay and Ashvini couldn’t be reached for a comment. However, a few days after the release of OMG, Shukla had gone on record to say that they have almost finalised the script for the sequel.
