Shahid Kapoor's shaadi is over, but the buzz hasn't died down yet. When the actor made his first formal public appearance after marriage to promote his upcoming film, with co-star Alia Bhatt and producer Karan Johar, he was swamped with questions about his married life.
When someone reportedly asked him if shaadi ka laddoo was good or bad, he said, "It's great." However, he managed to avoid many other questions on the wedding and being married, with the help of Alia and Karan, who took it upon themselves to bail him out. Thus, Karan announced that only film-related questions would be entertained at the event. And when someone asked about the most shaandaar (grand) wedding gift he has received, Alia replied for him, saying, "We are shaandaar gifts of his shaadi."

Shahid also revealed that he convinced Alia to be part of Udta Punjab. "We were trying to make Udta Punjab for a year but no one wanted to do it as it is a dark film. I told Alia that there is a role which in my understanding is one of the finest roles for a female actor," Shahid said.
It was within two days when Alia gave her nod to the project which also stars Shahid's ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan. "She (Alia) read the script and called me crying as she was moved by the film. She agreed to do the film and it is very brave on her part."

But there were other questions, for which Shahid decided not to mince his words. So, when he was asked to compare actor Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia, who are his co-stars in another upcoming film, he said, "It is a big compliment for Alia that we are talking about similarities between her and Kareena. I don't think there is any comparison or similarity since they are both different (as people and actors), and both have done phenomenal work."
