With three back to back releases in 2016, actor Tannishtha Chatterjee had a super busy year. But surprisingly, she is losing interest in whatever new scripts are coming her way, as she is looking forward to something completely new and different.
“I live in the present moment and it has been an incredible year for me, with the kind of releases I have had. On one hand, it has been very exciting and satisfying, but at the same time, it has made me want for better projects now. Whatever new scripts that I’m getting, I don’t find them interesting anymore because I’ve done such diverse roles and films in the last two years that my next has to offer something more,” says Tannishtha.
The actor, who was seen in films such as Parched, Lion and UnIndian in 2016, is waiting for something out of the box that pushes her to take risks. Tannishtha recently won an award in Pune for her debut Marathi film, and she doesn’t shy away from the fact that getting an award makes her feel good about her work.
“I don’t work for an award but I admit that when I receive one, I feel very nice because it is a sort of a recognition to your craft. But if I don’t get it, I don’t sulk; I move on. By now I’ve been winning awards for a long time, but my biggest award would be the next interesting role that I’d take up. I’m still looking to explore and expand,” she says.
