Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is camping in the West Bengal capital for more than a month now, injured his rib cage while shooting for a crucial scene on the sets of Ribhu Dasgupta’s film Te3N on Thursday.
The 74-year old actor was treated for the injury, which he said via Twitter wasn’t grave but causing discomfort in breathing. “Hurt rib from shoot .. but ok .. taking friends Ef to WAZIR at South City Mall, Kolkata this evening !! YEA,” he tweeted, sounding cheerful despite the pain.

The actor was scheduled to attend the premiere of his next, Wazir , at a multiplex in south Kolkata on Thursday evening. He assured his fans that if the pain continued for a couple of days, he would go for a routine X-ray or MRI scan.
The accident triggered anxiety as Amitabh had critically injured himself on the sets of Coolie in 1982 while shooting for a crucial action scene. He was in hospital for more than two months with the entire national praying for his speedy recovery. He still suffers from effects of that injury.
Bachchan will be in Kolkata for a few more days and, according to sources, is in no mood to cut short the shooting for Te3N that also has Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.
This is the second film Bachchan is shooting in Kolkata and its adjoining towns after Piku.
