Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar have worked on a film together in the past, but legal issues kept it from releasing in theatres.
The duo went on to collaborate on several ad films, and now, they’re working on their second film.
The father-daughter story, with Deepika Padukone playing Bachchan’s daughter, is finally going on the floors in August.

A source tells us that the shoot was supposed to begin a few months ago, but Bachchan wanted to concentrate on his upcoming TV show, in which he is playing a fictional character on the small screen for the first time. So, he had requested Shoojit to delay the film. Currently, the actor has only a few days of the show’s shoot left, after which he will get back to his other shoots.
"The film is going on the floors in August, which is around the same time when Mr Bachchan will start shooting for the eighth season of a quiz show that he hosts," says the source.
When contacted, the makers confirmed that the film’s shooting will begin soon, and it will release in 2015. Apart from Deepika, Shoojit’s film will also star Moushmi Chatterjee and Irrfan Khan.
