Taapsee will work with Amitabh Bachchan in Aniruddha Roy Chouwdhury in his Hindi directorial debut.

Taapsee Pannu , who shot to fame with her Dhanush-starrer Tamil film, Aadukalam -- essaying the role of an Anglo-Indian, Irene -- will now act with Amitabh Bachchan in a Hindi movie. The film, that is yet to be titled will be produced by Shoojit Sircar and helmed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who will make his directorial debut in Bollywood with the movie. Sircar, who has given us gems like Vicky Donor and Piku (his Madras Cafe was not as impressive), is currently shooting a documentary on Amitabh Bachchan. And Roy Chowdhury, who had a role in Piku, is known for his Bengali works like Antaheen and Aparajito Tumi.

The principal photography for the movie will begin in February, and it will be shot in Delhi.

Taapsee, who is in the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie, Kaththi, made her debut in a Telugu work called Jhummandi Naadam (a love story about an aspiring playback singer), directed by Raghavendra Rao, and she went on to act in several prize winning films including Aadukalam (six National Awards), Vastadu Naa Raju and Mr Perfect (both in Telugu). She also played in the Akshay Kumar outing, Neeraj Pandey-helmed thriller, Baby.

With Roy chowdhury’s Hindi film falling into Taapsee’s lap, she will get a fair chance to prove her mettle. For, whatever said, language can be a big impediment for one who has to emote in a language one is not familiar with.
