Recently, R Madhavan attended the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan, where his film, Irudhi Suttru (Tamil version of Saala Khadoos), was screened on November 1.
The actor was accompanied by his wife, Sarita Birje, and son, Vedant Madhavan.
A source reveals that the actor took time out to plan a special surprise for his wife.
“Madhavan likes to take his family for the events that he attends in India as well as overseas. This time, he decided to do something special for Sarita, and took her for a ride in one of the popular bullet trains in Tokyo, which are also known as the Shinkansen. After that, the couple had traditional Japanese dinner at Mifune, a restaurant.”
Talking about the experience, Madhavan says, “Sarita and I had a wonderful time. The train ride was fun, as it’s so fast. Every time you seen another train going in the opposite direction, you can feel both the trains kind of splitting apart and leaning on opposite sides of the track. It’s frightening, but at the same time, its extraordinary technology. I’m impressed with the cleanliness and the discipline with which they (local authorities in Japan) have maintained the trains. They’re in a different league altogether.”
