Anant Nag who was last seen in Ram Gopal Verma’s Raat in 1992 has made a comeback in Janleva 555, after 20 long years. Earlier, Nag had worked in several award-winning films by Shyam Benegal like Manthan (1976), Bhumika (1977), Kalyug (1981) and Nishan (1975). After Raat, he also featured in numerous Kannad films and played the lead in Amol Palekhar’s Marathi film Anahat (2003) with Sonali Bendre and Deepti Naval.

Says Sandeep Malani, director of Janeva 555, who had worked with the veteran actor in Kannada film Manasella Neene a few years ago, “I never thought Anant Nag would agree to act in my film. I took a chance and succeeded. It was a huge surprise for me that he was okay playing the character of professor Sinha, a holistic person, in the film.”
