Imran Khan is playing a gangster in Milan Luthria’s next, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again (OUATIMA). And the actor is leaving no stone unturned to give the role his best shot. As part of his research on how how to get into the skin of the character, Imran has also been watching a lot of movies featuring Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.

“OUATIMA is a period film. So, the characters had to fit in correctly. I watched a lot of films from the ’80s, including the ones with Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in them, to understand how things were back then,” says Imran.

Imran has been drawing inspiration from the way these two actors used to deliver their dialogues. “Since Imran plays a character that belongs to that era, it was important for him to understand how people talked and dressed then. He watched Mashaal (1984), Ram Lakhan (1989) and many other films of Anil and Jackie,” says a source close to Imran.

He adds, “The films have been of huge help to him. He has tried to incorporate all the things that he observed in these films in his character. It will be reflected on the big screen when the film releases.”

In OUATIMA, Imran will be seen sporting a new look. The film also features Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre in the lead roles. It is set to release on August 8.
