Actor Anupam Kher will be essaying the role of a blind man in his next film, Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein. Kher, 57, says he took up the role to challenge himself as an actor.

The actor, who stars alongside actor Sachin Khedekar in the film about a man who is stagnated in his life and is shown the way to live by a visually impaired man, says he suggested the change in his role a minute before filming began.

“I suggested to the director that my role be turned into that of a blind man. I felt that the man has a lot to say, but I did not want it to look preachy. It’s a blind man talking about vision,” says Kher.
