Anurag Kashyap drops Aamir from next
Bombay Velvet, touted as Kashyap's most ambitious and expensive film till date, was supposed to have Aamir as its strong selling point. Latest development is that the director has decided to make the film without him.
Director Anurag Kashyap, who had delayed his dream project for a year to have Aamir on board, has now decided to make the film without him.
Previously, Kashyap had declared that he will not make the film, if Aamir wasn't a part of the star cast, but now he feels that he has waited long enough for the superstar.
The director dejectedly revealed to Mid Day, "I am going ahead with Bombay Velvet without Aamir. He is a very busy man and I have waited long enough. I don't even know if he wants to do the film."
Bombay Velvet, touted as Kashyap's most ambitious and expensive film till date, was supposed to have Aamir as its strong selling point, but for now only John Abraham, Naseeruddin Shah and Kay Kay Menon have been confirmed as part of the project.
Based on Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables, Bombay Velvet is set in the Bombay of 60s.Talking about the project the director said, "There is every chance that the audience would see the queen's necklace with an absolutely clear skyline, minus all the skyscrapers."
The film, will go on the floors in 2012.
