Anurag Kashyap is out with the trailer of his upcoming crime flick Gangs of Wasseypur, a place where crime, hate and vengeance is inherited. The film features an ensemble cast of Manoj Bajpai, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Richa Chadda.
The film, primarily based on the coal mafia in Dhanbad (Jharkhand), is about the true lives of the people living in a remote region called Wasseypur.
The entire film, which is five hours and twenty minutes long, was shot at one stretch. "We shot the whole film at one go. It took us around seven months to do it," said Kashyap.
Director Tigmanshu Dhulia will be making his acting debut as a villain in the film. "The longest role in the film is of Tigmanshu Dhulia who plays the villain. We have seen his talent as a director and now we'll get to see his acting calibre for the first time. He plays the role of a 40-year-old to a 90-year-old man. You have to see his performance to believe it," informed Kashyap.
Besides the lead cast, there are around 340 other characters in the film.
The film is scheduled for June 22 release.
