After Bombay Velvet (2015) and Raman Raghav, film-maker Anurag Kashyap has decided to move on to his next project. But Anurag has chosen a love story as the premise for his next films, shedding his usual dark, edgy and off-beat flavour. He will be collaborating with Aanand L Rai on this project.
A source close to the film-maker says, “Anurag, has been travelling extensively to scout locations for his film. Since he wanted to explore a love story set in a small town, he has been reconnoitering in Uttar Pradesh and has zeroed in on Bareilly, Varanasi and Lucknow. The film will go on the floors this February, and the casting is underway and will be finalised in a couple of days.”
Apparently, this project is close to Anurag’s heart, as it has managed to take him back to his roots. The source adds, “Anurag hails from UP and is extremely happy to set his film in the same region. Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) was also set in UP, and Anurag is excited to revisit the locations again. What’s most interesting is that this will be the first movie directed by Anurag Kashyap where no one dies.”
