He might be known for his directing skills, but Anurag Kashyap has tried his hand at acting too (remember his cameos in films like Shagird; 2011, Black Friday, Dev.D and Luck by Chance; both 2009).
And the latest we’ve heard is that the film-maker has been roped in by Farah Khan for her next biggie, the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer, Happy New Year.
"It’s not a very big role. But it will definitely surprise audiences. It was Farah’s idea to get Anurag to be part of it," says an insider.
Interestingly, the Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) director is playing a film-maker in the film, and has already shot for his part. When contacted, Farah confirms the news, saying, "(There’s) still time (to go). (But it’s a) very interesting cameo."
The choreographer-director has already shot with other directors — her brother Sajid Khan and Prabhu Dheva for her Diwali release. Also, rumours are rife that she might rope in Karan Johar too for a cameo.
Anurag will also be seen sharing the big screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Bhoothnath Returns, where he will essay the role of a director. The film-maker is also directing Big B in the latter’s maiden fictional TV show that will go on air later this year.
