Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra and more: Bollywood heroines turn singers in 2017

Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor had started the trend of actors taking to playback singing in films, and taking forward the trend, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra and others are set to croon songs for their films slated for release this year.

Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor had started the trend of actors taking to playback singing in films. While Alia began her singing career with Imtiaz Ali’s Highway, Shraddha crooned songs in Aashiqui 2. Sonakshi Sinha released her first single in 2015, Aaj Mood Ishqaholic Hai and will soon be seen singing a song in Noor. Taking forward the trend, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra and others are set to croon songs for their films slated for release this year.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has lent her voice for the rap version of the song Naughty Billo in her second production venture, Phillauri. She recently launched the track with the judge of the reality TV singing show and her co-star, The Rising Star, Diljit Dosanjh.

Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra will make her singing debut in next project with Ayushman Khuranna - Meri Pyaari Bindu. Parineeti has already recorded her first song ‘Mana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi’ for the film, which is composed by Sachin-Jigar.

Sonakshi Sinha

In her upcoming drama Noor, directed by Sunhil Sippy, Sonakshi will sing a song called ‘ MYL - Move Your Lakk’ with Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah. She plays a journalist in the film that is based on the Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me!

Richa Chadha

Richa will make her singing debut for her upcoming film. Details about the film are yet to be revealed but Richa has confirmed that she will sing in the movie.

“This will be the first time I’ll sing professionally, and I’m excited with the prospect of experiencing something new. This movie is going to be special for me. I am hoping that people like what we are putting together,” she had said.
