Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor’s much talked about film Rock the Shaadi, which has been in news for a while, commenced its shoot on Dussehra in Rajasthan.
Even though they were supposed to start the shoot on October 7, director Navdeep Singh, decided to roll the camera for the mahurat clap and started shooting on October 6, considering it to be lucky for the film. In fact it was none other than actor Genelia D’Souza (below left) who gave the mahurat clap.
Confirms Tanuj Garg of Balaji Motion Pictures, “Even though Rock The Shaadi shoot was to start on 7th, as it was Dussehra on 6th, the director decided to roll the camera for auspicious reasons a day earlier, while Genelia gave the first clap. It was the first time that she has given a clap in all these years.”
Rock the Shaadi is a ‘fun-jabi’ film which stars Abhay Deol and Genelia for the first time. It is said that 60-70% of the film will be shot in and around a shaadi mandap.
