Ayushmann Khurrana, who made his debut last year with actor-turned-producer John Abraham’s Vicky Donor, is all set to join the league of actors doing biopics. We have come to know that the actor will be seen in a movie, tentatively titled Bombay Fairytale, which is a biopic on the life of Shivkar Talpade, who is believed to have constructed and flown India’s first unmanned airplane in 1895.
A source close to the project’s team reveals, “The film will be produced by Guneet Monga and will be directed by debutant director Vibhu Puri. Vibhu was filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first assistant director and also the writer of Saawariya (2007). He was later going to do a film called Chenab Gandhi three years ago, which was supposed to have actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rajeev Khandelwal and Vidya Balan, but the project later got shelved due to an apparent fallout between him and Bhansali.”
The source further adds, “This biopic will go on floors this month. It will be quite challenging for Ayushmann as he is Punjabi and he would be playing the role of a Maharashtrian.”
The actor has apparently already started researching his subject.
