In 2012, when Ayushmann Khurrana made his successful Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, it was followed by an announcement about another venture where the actor would team up with Shoojit Sircar (director) and John Abraham (producer). Then, the film got delayed due to various reasons, including an automobile company apparently objecting to the makers using the tagline of their popular ads.
At the time, the makers had decided to change the title. Now, it looks like the film is finally set to hit the floors next year (January-February). “Ayushmann has been busy shooting for films and now that he has nearly wrapped up that work, he can focus entirely on this one. It will go on the floors in early 2015,” says an insider.
In all likelihood, the film will kick off with an extended schedule in Agra, since the story has a strong connection with the city. “While a major portion will be wrapped up in Agra, other portions of the film will be shot in Mumbai,” adds the insider.
Ayushmann’s new film will be directed by Amit Roy and reportedly, the actor will play a tourist guide who aspires to work in Bollywood. “Yes, the film will be shot in Agra. In the meantime, I have wrapped up work on Vibhu Puri’s and Sharat’s (Katariya) respective films,” says Ayushmann, who is also supposed to be part of Shoojit’s upcoming movie based on football, which will also star John.
