Never mind that Sriram Raghavan's film Badlapur, a revenge saga, didn't get a rousing thumbs up from the critics, its box office numbers have shown no signs of waning since its release.
The film, starring Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has collected Rs 30.9 crore in just five days. This, at a time when the ICC Cricket World Cup is in full swing, and our Boys in Blue are on top of their game.
After making an average opening of Rs 7 crore on Friday, the film's collections rose to Rs 8.50 crore and Rs 8 crore over Saturday and Sunday respectively. The film earned Rs 4 crore on Monday and Rs 3.35 crore on Tuesday.
Badlapur has also managed to hold its ground in international markets, grossing approx $1 million (Rs 6.23 crore) in the opening weekend.
The film also features Yami Gautam and Huma Qureshi in lead roles.
