Banjo trailer: Riteish Deshmukh is set to rock

The three-minute-long trailer begins with introducing Riteish and his band and brings Nargis soon enough to keep us engaged. It tells us that Nargis wants to take Riteish’s band to bigger fields but her boss won’t allow the ‘street players’ on his turf. Will Riteish win this battle? Well, we don’t know about the film but his acting in the trailer certainly makes him a winner for us.

Two months after revealing the teaser of his upcoming film Banjo, Riteish Deshmukh launched the film’s first trailer Tuesday evening.

Though he started his career with Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003), he has mostly played a second fiddle. With Banjo, the actor is set to prove his mettle once again as the solo lead with Ravi Jadhav’s directorial venture.

Riteish is a musical sensation while Nargis Fakhri is a DJ who arrives in Mumbai in search of original music and finds Riteish’s band. Dharmesh Yelande of dance reality TV show Dance India Dance fame plays Riteish’s band member in the film.

Nargis made her Bollywood debut with 2011 movie Rockstar, is known for her work in Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, Azhar and Housefull 3.

The film is set in the dingy bylanes of Mumbai’s slums. Banjo is scheduled to hit the screens on September 23.
