Newly married Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan were offered Tigmanshu Dhulia's biopic Begum Samru but both the actresses have refused to do the film because of its explicit content, reports Bombay Times.
The main character Begum is full of sexuality and that's what made Kareena and Vidya uncomfortable. "The film is set in the 1840s and will be based on a Hindi novel. I wrote the script a few years ago. I am looking to rope in an international studio. That will ensure I don't face any censor issues in terms of satellite rights. That being said, I did approach Kareena and Vidya but they weren't comfortable with the script", Dhulia told Bombay Times.
Tigmanshu Dhulia also revealed that the story is a different take on Umrao Jaan and the character will be wooing four men in the film.
