Shirish Kunder's Joker is a sci-fi film starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

They worked together in Jaan-e-Mann in 2006. And even though Salman Khan is not part of Shirish Kunder’s second directorial venture, Joker, the filmmaker was reportedly very keen to associate the actor with the Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer in some capacity. To achieve that, Shirish has now included Salman’s charity foundation, Being Human, in the film’s first trailer.

“The movie is about a fictional village called Paglapur. No neighbouring state wants to take responsibility for it. So in order to attract some eyeballs, a village resident (Akshay) creates some drama involving aliens. That’s when Shirish thought of this dialogue, ‘when Being Human isn’t enough, try being an alien,’” says an insider. Interestingly, the poster will also have ‘Being Alien’ embossed on it.

Shirish, who is known to be close to Salman, recently met the superstar and screened the promo for him personally. “He found it quite funny,” says the director. “Basically, after Jaan-e-Mann, I wanted to get that signature ‘Salman touch’ in my second film too. He has been very close to us (him and wife Farah Khan) and for the past few months, we’ve been in touch regarding Kick. But for the trailer, I went to meet him specially.”

Salman and Shirish are set to team up again for the Sajid Nadiadwala action production, Kick, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha. The film is expected to go on the floors as soon as Salman wraps up shooting for Dabangg 2 by the end of the year.

Song leaked? plumber!

You can trust the director of Joker to be funny. But Shirish Kunder has a reason to be quite upset right now — a song from his film called ‘I want fakht you’ (‘fakht’ meaning ‘only’ in Marathi) has been leaked online. This is an older version of the song, whose lyrics were changed to ‘I want just you’ by music directors Vishal-Shekhar for the official soundtrack.

Although the makers are trying to get the song off the Internet, filmmaker-wife Farah Khan, Shirish and singer Sunidhi Chauhan seem amused. “I guess chori ka fruit is sweeter; just got 2 know that leaked song of Joker is trending. main hasoon ya rouooun?? (sic)” tweeted Farah while Shirish looked at the funny side: “What the F@[±&!!! Song leaked?! I’m calling the Plumber (sic),” he tweeted.
