Richa Chadha has started preparing for her online series. The show, Powerplay, which is based on cricket and politics, is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production house. She will be seen playing the role of a successful actor in the series.
To prepare for the character, Richa left for Kamshet (a town in Maharashtra) for two days. But she didn’t inform her family or her manager about her whereabouts.
A source says, “Richa wanted to study her character. She packed her bags and cut off all communication for those two days to prepare for the role. The show’s team had asked her to do so. However, her parents panicked. No one knew where she was last weekend.”
Ask Richa about going AWOL, and she says, “It’s important to disconnect, especially before playing a difficult character. We live in an age where we can’t manage without checking our phones every 30 minutes. So, in order to concentrate, it’s important to be unavailable. Each new project makes me nervous. I genuinely feel I need to be better at my craft.”
The show will be released on the online streaming platform Amazon Prime.
