Big B’s statue in Madame Tussauds to be tweaked
Amitabh Bachchan’s statue at the famous Madame Tussauds in London will soon be tweaked and refurbished.
Amitabh Bachchan was the first Bollywood personality to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, in London, UK, in 2000. Since then, statues of actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan, among others, have made their way into the reputed museum. It was reported in May that Bachchan’s wax figure will soon be tweaked and refurbished. Ask him what will change, and Big B says, “It will look how I look now. Perhaps, it will have the glasses as well. There will be a dress change too. The makers will also take my measurements to make some changes to the look.”

Usually, the clothes for the statues are provided by the celebrities. But Bachchan says he didn’t give the authorities the costume. “I guess they had got the dress made. Perhaps, the shawl was mine. I was shooting for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) when the statue was being made in 2000. I was wearing that kind of dress (the current attire of the statue) for the movie, so I said, ‘Yeh hi le lo (just take this one)’,” says Bachchan.
The actor is personally looking into what the refurbished statue will wear now. “I am giving them some eight to nine options. They can keep changing (laughs),” adds the superstar.
