She has done some bold stuff in the past — 17 kisses in her debut film Khwaish and sizzling liplocks in Murder, which even got the censor board worried. But, Mallika Sherawat claims that her role in Hisss is the boldest she has ever played.
The actor, who plays a snake-woman in the flick, directed by Hollywood film-maker Jennifer Lynch, was in the NCR on Friday. After entertaining those present at the press conference with a naagin dance, Mallika said, “It is undoubtedly the boldest role I have done so far. Agar logon ko lagta hai Khwaish and Murder bold the, toh Hisss unki neend haraam kar degi (If people thought Khwaish and Murder were bold, Hisss will take their sleep away.)”The actor, who has been staying in Los Angeles for over a year, added, "I feel I have got my Indian-ness back." Ever since her return, rumours are rife that she will be a part of Murder 2.
“These are just rumours, it’s not true,” she clarifies. Sherawat, who admits there is nudity in the film, has no qualms about shedding her layers on screen. “It depends on the subject and demand of the script.”
How was the experience of kissing a live snake? “It (the snake) was so slimy, and it kept licking. Jennifer told me, ‘Be passionate. You’re the nagin’. But, my best on-screen kiss has been with a snake,” she says.
While she has no man in her life at the moment, that may well change in the future. “I am not missing any man in my life. But, I am open to having one,” she signs off.
