After her recent role of Olympic medal-winning boxer Mary Kom in a biopic, Priyanka Chopra may already be preparing to play another real-life character — retired police officer Kiran Bedi. Bedi, famous for being India’s first woman IPS officer, retired from active service in 2007, and has since anchored a TV show, and even played a part in Anna Hazare’s Lokpal campaign.
Priyanka’s spokesperson confirms the development, saying, “She (Priyanka) has been approached, but it’s too early to speak about it.”
An industry source adds, “Priyanka has been offered Rs 10 crore for the role. If she likes the script, she will consider it.”

Director Soham Shah (who made Luck in 2009, and Kaal in 2005) will reportedly helm the project.
However, when we contacted Bedi, she seemed surprised. “I am not aware of this,” she told us.

In her text message, Bedi clarified that she is willing to consider the possibility of a biopic if she’s approached: “Can’t be decided like this. Send me a proposal. I can look at it (sic).”
