What’s with filmstars and injuries these days? The recent news of actor Shah Rukh Khan getting injured on the sets of Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, when a 10x5 ft door crashed on him, comes close on the heels of many other leading stars getting injured while shooting recently.
These include Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Experts say it’s not always about daring stunts, sometimes lack of production detailing also leads to lack of safety and mishaps.
Filmmakers defend themselves. “As producers, we take steps to ensure our actors’ safety. Actors, too, need to be careful especially while performing stunts,” says producer Ramesh Taurani.
Filmmaker Kunal Kohli says, “Accidents are bound to happen and that’s why they are called accidents.”
