I started this trust that helps children who are not being able to get proper education because of their weak financial background. I also help in skin banking for acid attack victims

“I believe in contributing in my own small way. After my mother passed away, I started this trust that helps children who are not being able to get proper education because of their weak financial background. I also help in skin banking for acid attack victims. The whole of Bollywood should come forward and do something for such causes. I know a lot of celebs are already doing their bit,” says Sonu, who is keen on doing something for the soldiers fighting at the border.

On the professional front, after Kung-Fu Yoga, the actor is busy filming an action comedy down South. He is also planning to produce a biopic. Prod him for details and he says things are at a very nascent stage.

The actor is known to be verbal about the difficulties of surviving in Bollywood. “I feel Bollywood is not about achieving but surviving. It’s like how long you can hold your breath under water. It’s a different journey especially for an outsider like me. No one is there to guide you.”

As the chat veered to the recent attack on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati by Rajput Karni Sena, Sood said such incidents are uncalled for. “I understand that people have their own opinions, but this is very unfortunate. Our government should take serious steps so something like this never happens again.”
