This year started with a string of bitter break-ups in Bollywood, but as it comes close to the last quarter, many of the actors have not just moved on in personal lives, but are also being professional enough to work with their former partners. Leading the pack are Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
Katrina, who broke up with live-in partner Ranbir would be seen with him in Jagga Jasoos, and she has also signed up Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan, her boyfriend before Ranbir Kapoor.
Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor who dated after the shoot of Aashiqui 2, will soon be seen in filmmaker Shaad Ali’s next, while rumoured ex-couple Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will re-unite for Shashant Khaitan’s next film. When asked if working with Katrina was awkward, following their break-up, Ranbir said, “Working with Katrina is fun, she’s very passionate about her work. There’s no awkwardness, and I hope we can keep working together even in the future.”
Their film’s director Anurag Basu’s also dismissed rumours of cold vibes.“Ranbir and Katrina rather became more professional, so that the work doesn’t get affected. They were more concerned that their personal equation doesn’t become a hurdle for the film. While shooting, we were amazed with reports that they are not sharing vanity vans. But they were never sharing vans in the first place,” says Basu.
Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, who will direct actor Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, had this to say about the former couple sharing screen space.
“How does it matter? I have written a script and when someone is in the script, who am I to comment upon their personal lives?” he says
Industry analyst Atul Mohan says, “Today’s generation is more mature. The stars are very professional Varun and Alia have given hits in the past and so have Salman and Katrina. People identify with these pairing and fans are curious to see them on screen.”
