Indian Cinema's centenary symbolic film Bombay Talkies has garnered rave reviews even before its release. And the praise comes from none other than the Bollywood celebs, who've been gushing about the film.
Actress Sonam Kapoor, who was present at the private screening of the film last week in Mumbai, took to Twitter to laud the film. She wrote, "Saw #bombaytalkies yesterday @kjohar25, dibaker zoya and anurag kashyap are truly the most remarkable film-makers of our time!! The stories were personal and so very indian. I'm so proud of being a part of this film industry. #bombaytalkies (sic).
Bombay Talkies co-director Anurag Kashyap's wife and actress Kalki Koechlin wrote, "saw #bombaytalkies last night. is brilliance in proportion to brevity? in that case everyone in bollywood should start making 25min films."
Author Shobhaa De too, was all praise for the film. "Bombay Talkies! If only more of our movies would speak the same language!," she wrote.
Film co-director Zoya Akhtar's brother and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar also tweeted his enthusiasm on the micro-blogging site. "Hearing superb reviews of Bombay Talkies. congratulations to the 4 film makers... can't wait for tonight to see it."
Film reviewers also voiced their positive opinion on Twitter.
#BombayTalkies is lovely, lyrical, aching. It made me smile and cry. And it made me understand why I love Hindi movies so much. Do watch.
