Hours before the film releases and a day before the reviews appear, here’s what you can expect from this week’s release…
Film: Jism 2
Cast: Sunny Leone (debut Bollywood film), Randeep Hooda (last seen in Cocktail) and Arunoday Singh (last seen in Yeh Saali
Storyline: Character-actor Sunny Leone plays the role of a porn star, who is set up as bait in a trap for a good looking bad-a** assassin. The love triangle and master plan is orchestrated by a hunky cop.
Director: Pooja Bhatt (last directed Kajraare; 2010)Pooja seems to love roping in method actors for her films.
Singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya played the part of a singer madly-in-love with a bar dancer in Kajraare. The film received scathing reviews.
Vicky Goswami, Dr Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Mithun Sharma.Yet again, a Bhatt film has received rave reviews for its “soulful” music. Mithun’s contribution to the album has been praised.
If controversies lead to a film’s success, then Jism 2 should ideally put Salman Khan’s series of R100 crore hits to shame. The latest in the series is a public interest litigation (PIL) that slams the “sexually explicit content” of the film. Now, news has it that the BMC has asked for the “too hot” posters of the film to be pulled off hoardings.
It was touted as the first film to be announced on a reality TV show, Bigg Boss. This sequel has been making news ever since the first movie released in 2003. Filmmaker-writer Mahesh Bhatt has made sure it leaves no one’s memory on Twitter.
Our assessment the makers have introduced a porn star to Bollywood, which has driven everyone crazy. The promos say little about what to expect from the film, but showcase Sunny Leone’s talent well. According to imdb.com, ‘sexual jealousy’ is a plot keyword, which says a lot. Curiosity may just claim the lives of many cats this weekend.
