What was initially termed as a battle tilted in favour of Amitabh Bachchan’s Pink, has actually turned out to be the other way round. Raaz Reboot is giving Pink a run for its money. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the box office is favouring both the films.
While Pink has garnered Rs 21.51 crore in its first weekend, Raaz Reboot has gathered Rs 18.09 crore in the same time.
#Pink Fri 4.32 cr, Sat 7.65 cr, Sun 9.54 cr. Total: ₹ 21.51 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 19, 2016
#RaazReboot doesn't witness growth on Sun... Single screens better... Fri 6.30 cr, Sat 5.49 cr, Sun 6.30 cr. Total: ₹ 18.09 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 19, 2016
Pink is riding high on a very strong word of mouth. The audience and critics have praised the film for its hard-hitting content.
Starting on a tepid note on Fri morning, the gradual growth in biz of #Pink is simply PHENOMENAL... Expected to be STRONG on weekdays too.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 19, 2016
#Pink witnesses MASSIVE JUMP on Sun... Sun biz is double of Fri... Sat growth [from Fri]: 77.08%... Sun growth [from Fri]: 120.83%... SUPER!— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 19, 2016
However, Raaz Reboot’s success is entirely due to its production house which is known for making erotic horror stories. Emraan Hashmi’s fan following has also contributed to the film’s success.
It will be interesting to see whether Pink holds the momentum against Raaz Reboot during weekdays or not.
